ABOUT US
We are storytellers
Watza Lab is a creative communication studio specializing in branding, multimedia storytelling and creative communication strategies. Our expertise involves ventures related to diverse industries: restaurants, food, wine, beer, products and services for better living.

Ricardo Ibarra grew up in both Los Angeles and Guadalajara. He was a journalist for 20 years, writing and editing for publications such as El Informador, Público, La Gaceta de la Universidad de Guadalajara, and the news agency EFE. He produced Radio Indigena, a syndicated radio program covering native cultures and community issues.
Most recently, he worked as the founding editor of La Prensa Sonoma in Northern California between 2015 to 2020. He has received awards such as The Pulitzer Prize, the Society of Professional Journalists’ Community Journalism Award and awards from the National Association of Hispanic Publications and New America Media. He recently launched his creative agency Watza Lab, which develops specialized branding and marketing tools for businesses and organizations.
He loves bike riding around Sonoma County and the mountains of Jalisco, and dreams in sepia of that beach in Mexico.

Chisa is a Graphic Designer and Illustrator with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Communication Design from the University of Guadalajara.
She started her career at an architectural firm, working mainly on branding and signage design. After working there for several years, she decided to work for herself as a freelance Graphic Designer. Here, she focused on Branding, Packaging, and Editorial Design, while firmly establishing her reputation and visibility as an Illustrator by collaborating with independent film production and publishing companies.
Chisa currently works at Wizeline as a Visual Designer, focusing on enhancing Wizeline’s identity and branding in the market. In her spare time, she focuses on illustration projects related to branding and advertisement.

Daniel Vargas is a designer with 20 years of experience working with graphic design, web design, visual solutions and strategies for new businesses, start-ups and product development.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and a Master of Design and New Product Development from the Universidad de Guadalajara. He’s passionate about design and is always up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the field. For the last few years, he has focused mainly on web design using WordPress and CSS as his main tools.
Some of Daniel’s favorite projects include: the selected poster award at Guanajuato’s Festival Cervantino’s National Poster Contest in 2004, selected illustration for El Reto, DormirDCine Hotel in Madrid, Spain, finalist for “LANGUAGES MATTER! A UNESCO Poster Competition” in 2009, and first place poster design at Guadalajara’s Encuentro Internacional del Mariachi. He’s always ready to rock!
